The development of TerraSpark’s breakthrough seismic interpretation solution, Insight Earth, has been guided and focused for nearly 10 years in the context of its Geoscience Interpretation Visualization Consortium (GIVC).  The GIVC frequently contributes its articulation of real-world requirements and industry feedback to TerraSpark’s development team to enable the advancement of TerraSpark’s client-driven, solution-focused commercial products.

 

This GIVC has been funded by major multinational energy companies and by geophysical service companies. The current client companies are:

 

Charter of the consortium

 

Develop the role of visualization and immersive visualization in the interpretation process, including new structural and stratigraphic interpretation techniques and algorithms, visualization of geophysical and geological uncertainty, and exploring the value of immersive visualization in 3-D and 4-D interpretation;

 

Produce Research Results through reports, meetings, and software modules available to the Consortium Members of the research; and

 

Provide a forum for discussion and prioritization among Consortium Members of relevant research topics and research directions.

Industry input into the R&D effort helps keep the focus on solving current key problems, while TerraSpark’s expertise in seismic interpretation, directional well path planning and visualization result in innovative solutions adapted to today’s demands and tomorrow’s needs.  The new IP developed in the industry-funded research program is owned exclusively by TerraSpark Geosciences and is protected in part by US and international patents and pending patent applications.
